I too have a SCMT loaded onto our Excursion and indeed it firmed up shifts very well on 60hp but once the 80hp is loaded it shifts alot notchier Bill if you make it over to the Richardson/Plano area in the future we could bump up your engine performance alot more Bill in Richardson

I wish I could take you up on your offer, however, I'm about 1600 miles west of you. BTW, where is Richardson? I was stationed at Bergstrom AFB [just outside of Austin] back in the late '60's. I made the drive from Austin to Tucson in about 13 hours. I was driving a Triumph TR4 back then.

We're just abit of a drive from ya here in TX but the next time we're in La Habra(LA) we'll meet up.
Richardson is actually just north of Dallas with 75 running through it. I'm working on a couple of how-to articles in addition to the taillight conversion that will enhance 7.3L performance/MPG's. Bill

I'm either in Garland or McKinney nearly every day.
What kinds stuff you got in mind for the X to tweak it up a bit?
I'm running gaugeless but only goose it now and then on the highway, and do not want to run the risk of trashing my tranny and/or motor.
Thanks and looking forward to that post on the tail-light upgrade. |

Hey Bill in RIchardson...email me your phone contact info so I can holler atcha about ideas to tweak up (safely) my old 115,000 mile X 4x4 PSD.
Taking it into the tranny shop in Duncanville in the morning for a rear end bearing replacement ( 6 different bearings as I understand it) and a front tranny seal replace. Hoping to get out for $800 or so, but maybe more.
At some point I hope to have this money pit pretty well "fixed" so all I have to do is pour $100 of fuel into it each week.
