I'm reading through and searching posts but not seeing a ton of information about the 6.0L programmers, intake and exhaust.
Just picked up my wife an 03 2wd Ex Limited - tradedin a 2500 2wd 7.4L Suburban. The gas mileage difference is WOW.
It will almost make up for the payment difference.
I want to be able to get some more MPG - averaging 17 in town - 19 at 85 MPH to Prescott and back this weekend - Looking at doing the free plastic grill mod. Also an airaid intake as they're in town and I get buddy deals. How about a flip chip or multi HP programmer with in dash capabilities?
If I add some injectors and upgrade exhaust will 150HP chips do OK?
Looking for some low 15's, high 14's out of the Ex while sipping some diesel.

Hi Mike and Welcome to the Excursion forums! If you want to enhance the MPG's and some performance I'd go with a mild program in the 60-70 HP range(I recommend the Edge Evolution) upgrade the exhaust system and do the zoodad PHOTO by using a 2-3" holesaw to open up the header panel blocking the air intake tube opening,I sawed about 3 holes then filed it to conform to the tube opening shade/dimensions.
If you want to go bawls to the walls power,Pyrometer & boost gauges are basically a requirement Just to note Ford may void/deny warranty claims if they discover a performance enhancing chip was used but that can vary dealer to dealer.
I'm not familiar with the big split shot injectors for drag racing so I'll suggest http://www.dieselinnovations.com/ as they're into drag racing more than anyone else I know I'll be in Gilbert in less than two weeks if you'd like to hook up on that side of town to exchange ideas & information Bill

Welcome Mike !
If your 4x2 does not have a rear sway bar, I suggest a Hellwig as a cheap first mod...
Harness the curves MUCH better !!!

OK, the airaid intake is installed. Now I'm looking at programmers.

Samski, the Edge Juice Module and the Juice with Attitude were designed to be "Stacked" with the Edge Evolution Tuner or other performance "Chips" or "Programmers". The power increases when running stacked are not as large, but the throttle response and fuel mileage will typically be improved.
Edge Products actually recommends "Stacking" the Juice Module or Juice with Attitude with their Edge Evolution Tuner. This combination yielded better performance than either individual unit. "Stacking" also has the added benefit of giving you the Automatic Transmission programming of the Evolution with the Power and Monitoring features of the Juice with Attitude.
I watched the install of a Juice with attitude monitor the other day and have to say I'm impressed with the improved performance and results displayed on the monitor We'll tentatively be back from the left coast in early June, maybe we'll hook up then Bill

Did some work for a customer, payment is a new Hypertech setup. Getting the vehicle flashed and any outstanding TSB's resolved next week then in goes the "chip".
I like the plug and play and dial tuning of 50, 80, 125HP.
Anybody else got one of these?
Mike
