| Quote: | | The system I just purchased [and is still in the box] has 4" pipe all the way through with a 5" tip. | My 3.5" downpipe was an SOB to get installed, I can't imagine a 4" downpipe. I had to give the exhaust guy a hand in his shop while we was installing the downpipe.
I'd hold off on the 4" unless you plan on getting a chip and running on the hotter settings.

Mike speaking of shift kits a couple Powerstroke diesel friends and I installed the Sonnax Valve and Tircumulator spring kit on our Excursion and a '99 F250 crewcab this morning.
May I say the gear shifting has improved an easy 100% We have our PCM is only programmed with the economy 60HP program which it has been at for almost 3 years and 33,000 miles, have had no transmission or torque converter issues.
Occasionally I'll upload the 80HP program for testing purposes but have no worries about that mode either.
We've towed for about half of those 33k miles between here(Dallas) and Sacramento California.
Near future transmission upgrades will be a performance torque converter even tho nothing is ill with the stocker and a V10 cooler You gotta get that 4" system in soon as you can so the grinnin may start and then you'll have the Diesel performance bug! Bill

Okay, we didn't get the exhaust system installed yet. Still in a quandry about the down pipe. I'll talk to Magnaflow tomorrow. We did, however, get the front Hidden Hitch installed. I went to Auto Zone and got a new pair of fog/driving lights that are about the same size as the original. That new hitch is awesome. Not only is it a spotting hithc but I can carry a bike rack up there too. Add to that it is also another heavy duty protecton for the radiator and tranny cooler etc. You can hardly see it. I love it.

Okay, how do I insert photos either to this thread or to "my gallery". We haven't finished the hitch project yet as the license plate holder is still on back order. However, mine looks exactly like Scott the Birdman's EX. Except for the chrome tow hooks. Mine are still black. Oh, my license is different. The exhaust system will also wait until I get a programmer. I'm seriously thinking of getting the Edge.

Michael,
i would caution against the Edge on any auto tranny vehicle....
too many have complained about the tranny issue with the edge for it not to be true...
granted, there are those with no issues, but there are alternatives that handle the tranny just fine....
just my opinion and others may disagree

Click on "Photo Album" (the one you created in 2003) at that point you can select the photo/s from your computer for uploading to you album Bill

Okay, you asked for it, now you got it. I see I'll have to get out and take some more photos. When the license plate holder comes in I'll take more photos of the finished job. It got real dark Sunday night when we finally got the new fog lights and the bumper installed.

Okay, I put some photos of my rig in my album. More to come, especially after I clean it up a bit.
