The GT belongs ot a friend of mine who along with his wife and kids [2] rent the back rooms of my home. He's also from some place called Dallas and is constantly working on it. Eventually, he wants to make it a drag race car. It sure is faster than the '83 GT I had in '83.

Hey JohnBoy, the front bumper and all the stuff hanging on it come off with 6 bolts. It sure looks naked when it's off. The bumper doesn't weigh much and probably wouldn't protect the EX too well in an accident. With the Hidden Hitch in place, I feel the front is much better protected. Also, we found the plug for the engine heater. I wasn't aware there was one on this truck. I read somewhere recently that all the EX's have engine block heater; however, I don't have much need for it here in Southern California. The hitch and all was a pretty simple job. All I really needed was another pair of hands to handle the bumper. The license plate holder is on back order until the end of the month.

Okay, the weekend is almost over and the full Magnaflow exhaust system is now installed. Including the down pipe. Oh, by the way, I took a tape measure to it and the downpipe and one more are only 3.5" and then it expands out to 4". The old downpipe was a bit difficult to remove. Once we cut off part it just fell away. The new one was easy as could be to install. The only difficult part was reaching over the engine to fasten the clamp. Once that was done, the rest of the system went in to place in less than 10 minutes. The most difficult part of this project was cutting the old system in two places. The new down pipe is made of two pieces where the OEM is one. The Magnaflow system sounds great and I don't notice any loss of power in the low end. Just the opposite, It pulls well right off the line. Did I say it sounds GOOD??? I'll put a couple of photos in my gallery if I can rememeber how to do it.

Okay, the exhaust system has been on the EX for over a week now. The truck seems to accelerate better from a stand still and also when getting on the freeway. Yesterday we were cruising along at about 75 mph when I needed to exit the carpool lane. Traffic in the next lane was so bunched up I could not break in, so I accelerated up [not full throttle mind you] and in no time we were passing 95 mph. It never did that before. 95 yeah, but not so quickly. I do like the reapponse. I can't wait to get a programmer. I just have to decide which one to get. Each has their good points and bad points. Decisions, decisions..............................
