| Quote: | | We have an 05 Ex Limited and that radio look just like the one we have. We have the factory overhead DVD as well. | Yes, mine has the factory DVD player installed. That is how I discovered I had the wrong radio installed. The one I have installed now has a cassette / CD player and it will not allow the DVD player to play through the speakers. After so searching I found out that I have to have the correct radio installed for the DVD player to play through the speakers.

However, as much as I would love to find out what part number is on your radio, I don't know if you should be taking out your radio I am sure yours would be the correct part number though.

I bought my 05 Limited last September. It came with a single CD changer. A few days later, I noticed on the sticker that it said that a 6CD changer was installed. A check of the Ford website also confirmed that the Limited came with the 6CD changer.
I got a hassel from the dealer but finally convinced them that I would be a real pain in the ass if I didn't get my 6CD changer. They agreed and replaced it.
Good luck

I am happy for you JWandVassie. Sounds like you are got yours resolved. I spent a lot of time trying to locate the correct radio. I finally found one on eBay that said it was pulled out of an 05 Ex so I bought it and installed it. After the install, the DVD player still would not play through the speakers. I recently brought it into the stealer to find out what was wrong and they are telling the radio I put in came out of a Ford Escape and that is why it does not work with the DVD player.
I am not sure what to do at this point. RedLineX

Redline I know you really want a stock CD6 stereo but have you looked at any aftermarket stereos with 3 times as many features? Last month I removed our perfectly working CD6 and replaced it with a Pioneer DEH-P4800MP head for $150 shipped with installation kit and harness, also upgraded the 4 front stock speakers with Pioneer TS-A6871R 3-ways.
Now everything is music to our ears as the sound quality is Excellent compared to the CD6!! Our satellite radio plugs right into the back of the Pioneer with no FM Modulator to toy with
