That sounds like a sweeet setup CHPmustang! I would love to do something like that. However, I have the factory installed DVD player. I went to a few car stereo shops and was told that the stock radio is the only one that could control the factory DVD player.

Just wanted to post an update to my radio saga. When we took the truck into a local dealer for warranty service I ask them about the radio. The service rep contacted the Ford dealer we bought the Excursion from and amazingly the original dealer decided to ship him a brand new radio to install the truck. So, after months of frustration I now have the correct radio and it worked great for our big trip to Colorado. |

Nothing like listening to CD's all the way to CO unless you added satellite radio to the mix

It was not too bad. We had a caravan of friends with us so we chatted on the radios and the kids traded cars at each stop and watched movies on the DVD player.
I towed a 28 foot Jayco Toy hauler with my Harley loaded in the back. I have to say I was shocked at how effortless the EX pulled that thing up and down the mountains in Colorado.
My poor friend has a suburban with a 22 foot trailer and he was having all kinds of problems. At one point in the trip he told me I could not lead any more because I was killing his truck. So, I road behind him feeling like I should be pushing him up the hills. |

We have the best all around towing vehicle although it's discontinued there'll be a few of us left in 10-20 years that still are attached to Excursions Oh by the way,a few other friends with PowerStrokes are getting together next Saturday(Yes Labor day weekend) to turn wrenches since it should be our first cool weekend in a long time so if you or anyone else wants to swing by just touch base with me to get you directions, time, etc.

I am a believer, these things could tow a mountain! The longer I have the EX the more I like it. I will never understand why Ford stopped making them.
The PS get together sounds like fun, thanks for the invite. However, I am going to take the family camping over the labor day weekend so I cannot make it. |

I tried believe me I tried to get the mod day for tomorrow but my friend's hony-do schedule didn't permit it. We try and do em once a month so maybe the next one will be more convenient for everyone
