Welcome to the board. This board is full of very knowledgeable people. I'm still learning. One thing I love the most is the user "My Garage" It comes very handy too

I've decided that Xochi was in cahoots with the gas stations to rid me of my bank account. I still and love her.

Welcome to the site!
What year are looking for and what motor? I'd have to recommend the 00 X with the 7.3 or if you don't mind powder coated rods a 01-03.25 7.3.
My wife daily drives the Excursion and it's got 171K miles on it with nothing done to the motor or tranny. Up until purchasing at 104K miles only a head light knob was replaced. There is an original owner of a 00 X psd and his first problem was at 88K miles, front end issues. Took me three months to find the Excursion, it's the best vehicle I've ever owned.

| 2004 or 05 will be the year of my future X... easier to finance with my CU... as far as PSD or gas? I really have no preference but I notice a few grand difference in the average prices out there... Mileage is not really a factor either... I work less that 10 miles from my home and right now my 5.4 SD is lucky to get 12 MPH. I look forward to the "hunt" for my X and between ebay / car.com / autotrader and other web based searches... I'm sure I will find the LOADED X I desire for my family. I am an elementary P.E. Teacher and a road trip to get an X might be a great way to expose my boys to our great nation!!
Thanks for the kind words of welcome!!!! BTW...Check out my gallery for a pic of both new and old.

Welcome aboard!
I've owned my X since new and recently turned over 179,000 miles on it. Only one transmission (at 87k) other than that, it's been a very reliable and capable vehicle. If it's friends or family, I drive wherever we go because we can simply fit everything in the X with room to spare. It's great for road trips!

Another online source is www.forddirect.com where you can search Ford dealer inventories. It's the website I used to locate my '05 EB less than 125 miles from home.
Edit: I just checked forddirect.com, and the dealer where I got mine (Purvis Ford in Fredericksburg, VA) has two other V10 '05 models. |

Thanks for the welcome LANDYOT... I've been doing ALOT of research on the X and your posts are certainly one's I enjoy... very practical and informative... It is kinda weird but I was going to email you a question about your roof rack mod... I've tried to search for a "How to" post on your modification. I remember reading something about how you did it but I've kinda got X overload from reading so much the past couple of months.
Question to you... Do you have a link by which I can get the directions for your roof rack mod? I have seen the pictures and absolutely love it... both function and looks! Plus, when I get my X I plan to do your radius rod mod.
After much research I believe I will go with the V10... 2005 of course with the 3 valve design... I do not tow... the real motivation for my X desire is interior space for my 3 growing sons ( age 5,6,8 ).
Thanks for the heads-up about the 2 X's... since you dealt with that dealer, how much do you think I might be able to negotiate down the 34K price on the red one ... BTW-- I have seen that X in my internet searches and It fits my bill!!
