| Quote: | I have always wanted an Excursion and I could never talk my wife into it. Well, they have come way down in price and I am thinking I must have one!
I am leaning towards a 2000 4wd limited with the V-10. I found one with 169K miles on it. 1 owner for $6300
I had a 2001 F-250 with the 7.3 and had numerous issues with it. I am thinking V-10 should be pretty solid and do what I need without the added expense.
Comments, recommendations, etc?
Thanks,
D.
| Hey D,
I find that odd having problems with the 7.3, especially a 2001... My '01 F-250 was bullet proof overall. I hated to sell it at 97K, but did get a 2005 Ex in the 6.0 TD Limited 4x4 with 62K for $22,500. Essentially 44% of the list price 4 years ago.
IMO, stick with the pricier diesels. Also, 170K seems high to me on the V-10. Approaching 200K so you shouldn't be in the $15K range (unless it has a lot of bolt on goodies, etc). I would shop some... recently a user in the forum found a 2005 with 22K on her in Florida, TD I think. It is well worth the shipping cost as well. I looked from Cali, to PA, to Florida and ended up finding, what I consider, a deal in my own back yard here in Houston. My Ex needed some cleaning up from the kiddos the lady was hauling around, but it was never used offroad and had been to Dysney land once.
Cheers,

I want it for hunting, hauling a cattle trailer some, etc. Me, the kids, hunting gear, 4wd, etc. It will not be a daily driver.
If I need to haul big - I have a Dodge 3500 with a diesel in it. I am leaning towards a 2000 4wd limited with the V-10. I found one with 169K miles on it. 1 owner for $6300
