i am going to do my twin cooler(parallel)on my X.this is the ultimate cooler you can possibly have.you must have cooler in radiator to start.is anyone interested in a kit if i make one? it seems nobody has done this yet.i will build this with twin Tru Cool(OEM coolers)they seem to be the best, thats what i use in the shop.
regards,mike

Mike, I know you are doing a lot of things for your PSD, but would this be good for the V-10 also??? If so, I'd be interested.

this cooler setup will help any vehichle that tows.even Ford agrees that this is the way to go.
picture two trans lines going to the radiator cooler tank.return line(out of the radiator)goes into a brass T fitting.pressure goes to base of t fitting, left side goes to left cooler and right side goes to right cooler.then, left and right cooler return to another T fitting, then back to the trans.

So why can't we just replace the factory air/fluid cooler with a larger aftermarket one? Why is having two in parallel better than just one larger item?
Not trying to be a PITA but just curious if it's more effiecient one way or if this is simply because of space limitations or what exactly the reasoning is.

Mike, I'd be interested in a kit. Will it be something we can do ourselves? or will it be something that we should have done by our local tranny guy, (or you ). Also How much $$ would this kit be. I like the idea of running as cool as possible, especially pulling our trailer. Thanks

two medium size coolers will work better than one large size cooler.you can position them for more air flow through radiator.also,Ford coolers are designed to expand and contract(with temperature)sometime they forget to do that or are not capable to do that anymore(age, contamination, whatever).you can crash a trans with fluid that is too cold(in cold climate areas)almost as fast as too hot.this is good insurance plus it just plain works better.remember, the weakest part of our transmissions is the torque converter(not up to the task)next is the fluid, which brings us right back to the torque converter, which, when overheated will take out the trans.
