I have a 2005 cvpi. I have had an airbag light on and have been working to diagnose problems. It turns out both seat belt pretensioners were bad and I had a short in driver side wiring. These items were replaced and/or repaired so those codes are now gone. However, now I get an air bag code 16, Occupant Classification Sensor System fault. As I understand it there are several possibilities;
DTC B2290 Error value 27: Occupant Classification System module fault. Lamp flash code: 16
Possible Source(s): Occupant classification sensor module. Action(s) to take: INSTALL a new passenger seat cushion.
DTC B2290 Error value 26: Occupant Classification System communications fault. Lamp flash code: 16
Possible Source(s): Circuit(s). ???????
DTC B2290 Error value 25: Occupant Classification System calibration fault. Lamp flash code: 16
Possible Source(s) ccupant classification sensor module. Action(s) to take: INSTALL a new passenger seat cushion.
DTC B2290 Error value 24: Occupant Classification System sensing element fault. Lamp flash code: 16
Possible Source(s): Occupant classification sensor. Action(s) to take: INSTALL a new passenger seat cushion.
I don't have a reader to determine which of the error values for air bag code 16 I have. So, I took passenger seat out and found out that I have no passenger seat cushion sensor on my 2005 cvpi. The yellow connector is there but has yellow plug cover on it. If I rule out error value 24, 25, and 27 that leaves me with error value 26 (possible source: circuits). Has anyone had this kind of problem or know what "circuits" might mean? Did I forget to reset something? I really don't know where to go at this point.
Thx,
Eric
