Is there a WEB SITE that will provide a FORD part number?
For example, I provide; Year / Make Model and item description.
It provides the FORD PART NUMBER. 
It's pain to keep caling the dealer parts department and try to 'weasel'  the number out of him.

I disagree FoMoCo keeps P/Ns secret. It's only confusing to those who do not understand anyhting about them. It's certainly not a secret. 
All parts have a "Group" number, or basic Part Number. For example camshafts are 9250, or distribuitors are 12127 and so forth.
that will be in the center of the string. XXXX9250YY The decade in the 1900s (20th century) were A=40s B-50s C-60s D=70s E=80s F=90s 
so if I have a Dxxx9250yy I know I have a camshaft from the 1970s. The year in the decaes uses the 3 thar corresponds with the actural year 0-9. so a D7XX9250YY is a camshaft from a 1977 something. For Ford Cars they use As & Bs.for Trux they use Ts & Zs For Mercury they use ME and for Lincoln they use VE so if I have a D7VE 9250 YY I have a Camshaft to fit a 1977 Lincoln, the next part, the suffix can be trickey because it is application and/or supercision, THat can vary a bit. Lets say for discussion an A = a 460cid V8 engine,and supercisions are strictly in an alphabetacal order A = change 1 B=change 2, and so forth. So now I know that my D7VE9250AD is a 4th revision, or fourth supercision, aka 4th generation camshaft from a 1977 lincoln passenger car with a 460cid V8 engine, how is that secret? 
Can you tell me what a C6TZ 12127 AB might be?
