can anyone tell me the best way to set the timing my timing tab is bent so iam try to find tdc is it when the piston first comes up and stop or is it when it comes all the way and just starts to go back down,and how to detetermined were to set it 30degrees thur 40 degrees heres what my motor has in it

You would determine TDC with the use of a piston stop and a timing tape. Is the timing pointer bolt on or spot welded?
