You could always throw a 10.25" in there. They are fairly cheap. But then you have to worry about getting a 5 bolt lug pattern. To repair what you have you will most likely need new ring and pinion $150, new bearings $50, and possibly a new carrier but I would imagine it is ok. Plus labor to do it. I would say it would be cheaper to have it fixed/rebuilt than to buy a whole new setup.

Lets see, Ring & Pinion set $150.00, get Full Installation Kit (includes bearings & Shims for pinion & comes with marking paste too) $98.00, Total Cost would be $248.00 for parts.

To rebuild a rearend it takes time & time is money, $25 - $75 a hour and not all rearends take the same amount of time to rebuild, Some fall apart and just go back together easy, other times you got to use a torch (depends on the rear axle you have & condition of axle).

I would not pay $575 for a used rear end. Keep looking, you should be able to find one for $200-$300. Swap it in and run it until it breaks. Changing the pinion gear on the 8.8" is a bear, so $750 to fix it (parts&labor)is in the ballpark. If you were closer, I'd sell you mine from my 88 Bronco.
