Hi, Im new to this site and I have a question about the tailgate. I just bought an aftermarket tailgate from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard to replace my rusted out one. I got everything moved into the new tailgate and when i closed the tailgate the window wouldnt work. I figured out that the window wouldnt go up because the latches werent closing all the way (the window works when I close the latches manually). I centered the striker bolts to the latches and even moved the bolts out more, but all that did was make it so the tailgate was protruding from the body. Any help?, i cant figure out why the latches wont close all the way. |

are you 100% sure the latches were open when you closed it the first time?
chech the ailgnment of the tailgate a 16th can cause a problem
if alls well there is usually(on all my old verihickles) a throught hole in the latch ment for aligning the post/catch
you will need a helper to push the gate when latched loosen the strickers then tighten them from inside the gate then open and torque them

When that happened to my 96 I just took the easy route and bypassed the switch on the drivers side latch. |
