Hey folks,

I go by Dbo and I currently reside in Montana. I've been a fan of the site for a few weeks now, periodically viewing the forums for various information. After doing much research and talking with the Mrs. The green light was given for my purchase upon my return from Afghanistan in October. I would love to list the mods I have in plan, but for now I will hold off until the work begins this coming winter.

As far as I go, I've been working for the USG for the last seven years, and I've been turning wrenches for the last 13. I've done a few various jobs with my cherry being popped on a 67 Ranchero. My best friend and I removed the 289 and dropped a 351W from a 77 Continental. We chose not to cut the towers because of our youth and little faith in our project, so no headers. My second was my same friends 77 Trans Am. We installed 3.73's and a 402, along with a TH400 and a few other various goodies. My last venture was on my truck, a 96 Z71. This beauty has a 4L80E and 383 with Comp Cams Aggressive Profile and LT1 Heads. It was a fun project, didn't do it for the street though, it was all for towing. Wife signed off on the $7K project after I showed her it would be cheaper than buying a new truck and having a stupid monthly payment.

I love my beer and love being a family man. My job sucks but I love going to work! If I can offer any mechanical assistance please don't be afraid to ask. In my years I've found the 4.6 to be a very simplistic and easy engine. I've also experienced first hand the secret oil leaks of modular engines after a rebuild. To be exact, I went through 6 timing cover removals, one oil pan removal, oil filter housing, and three valve cover gaskets....on the same build lol.

I'll keep reading and studying, once I start the build this coming winter I will post the pictures and issues of each job I do. The list goes like this for this particular build:

Top End Performance
Transmission
Gears
Exhaust
Wheels/Tires
Body

I'll list the exacts later.
