Good day to all. I might be getting 99 p71 tomorrow Im just going to drive it and make sure i like it. All I know about them is what learned from driving a taxi on weekend some years ago. The one I drove was a 99 or 01 cant remember.in the car im getting The vin has P71 in it. Is there any variation to this? I mean A p71 is p71 right? The guy says it was a constables car, never used as patrol car...seems like he telling truth but..he is trying to sell a car. Anything I should be looking for that might indicate patrol or heavy use. ITs a 99 with 120,000 This is a second car for me to drive back in forth to work. The taxi i drove was really quick. I mean i swear at like 30 mph i could full throttle her and she spin the wheels and it had like 215,000 on it. Basically should I expect same from the car im going to pick up and any issues I should be looking for? Whats WOT test i seen hat on here some where? Any input would be extremley help full..for 2000 bucks im not expecting a race car but the reason I like the vic is the power i felt in the old taxi...

There are always issues when getting a used car. Even if a constable had used it doesn't mean it doesn't have thousands of hours of idle time. Or it wasn't abused like weekend drag racing.

If the VIN does show it is a P71, its built for heavy duty work. Like taxi cabs or limo service or police work. It has heavier suspension parts, better cooling capacity, normally a slightly higher idle speed, re-tuned transmission for quicker up/down shifts, and a slightly higher top end speed. They are great cars that will last and last, IF you take GOOD care of them.

Go check out www.crownvic.net, www.p71interceptor.com, and www.oqcvo.com for more info. Best of luck.

STOCK?? I bet it was modified.

13.26 @ 107.24 MPH 1/4 mi w/ me, tools, & full tank of 93 octane

I added CAI, NICHE 19 X 8.5 " wheels with 245/45ZR 19 rubbers, and completely rebuilt the front end with poly bushings, Kooks headers, 2 1/4inch exhaust, TCI 2200-2400 rpm Stall converter

.PLANS:: engine upgrade, 5.4L 2v stroker, rebuild interior in leather w/ buckets, thinking about turbos
