Hello all. I joined this forum today based on a recommendation from my editor who likes to see me be as accurate as I can. Right now I am in the middle of writing a book about, of all things, a boy and a girl in 1963 Texas. Yes, another Romeo and Juliet, but this one also has another character in it.

That other character is, I hope, a 1960, 0r \\'61, or \\'62, or \\'63, or \\'64 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor. That is of course if there was one at that time. Was there? If so, could someone help me with the specifications and some statistics? Please?

If that was not yet in production at that time, can someone please tell me if there was another car that filled the same need? Something that Law Enforcement used on a regular basis?

If we can pin this down that car may well end up being one of my major characters in this book. It will have a life of its own so I need to know about its speed, its tranny, its \\'personality\\' if you know what I mean.

Thank you all very much,

Mike

IIRC, the Galaxy was the Ford for police use in the early 60's. I don't know much about them, though.
