I have a dome light in my 2005 cvpi, red bulb is in and doesnt look burnt out, the dome light doesnt turn on, could it be disconnected? If so how easy and how to connect it back up. Thanks |

First, remove the bulb and see if you have power to it. Try putting in a new bulb. If no light, check the fuse. If the fuse is good and still no power to the lamp, check the switch. If you got power on that circuit from the fuse to the switch and out of the switch, then you have a broken wire between the switch and the bulb. If you have power to the switch but not out to the bulb, then you have a bad switch. YES, I have seen switches that worked for everything else like park lights and headlights, but NO DOME LIGHT. Switches do sometimes go bad.
Always get a shop manual or Haynes manual to trace down the wiring. Most public libraries do offer the Chilton manuals which do have some wiring diagrams. I have never purchased a vehicle without purchasing either the shop manual or a Haynes manual. They make things so much easier to repair.
