I have a 93 cvlx, with the stock 90 amp altenator, can it handle a 760 watt amplifier for my 2 12inch subs in the back? Ive heard that i should upgrade to the 200 amp altenator from the cvpi, but ive also seen 135amp alts from GMQs on ebay, if my 90 amp alt cant handle the power, would the 135amp be enough? Or can i just stick with 90amp one thats in there already?

The amplifiers do not rely on the alternator to supply power. The amps draw power from the battery. The alternator recharges the battery.

A lot of audio systems are set up with Optima batteries only because of their ability to allow a deep draw on the battery without hurting it. Most will upgrade to a 135 amp alternator because of its ability to recharge the battery quicker than the 90 amp alternator. If you install a 135 amp alternator AND have a good battery AND have good battery cables AND good wiring, you should be able to pump it up without any problems.

I am running two(2) 1000 watt amps for 6 speakers in my CV;one for the two 10 inch subs, and one for the rest. I still have the original 135 amp alternator, but I have a good set of battery cables, and I use adequate wiring for the amps. I have no problems.

Try using what you have at first. If you see that at idle your lights dim out, you need to check for corrosion in the cables. You may want to upgrade your battery cables first and the wiring going to the alternator to charge the battery. If the problem continues, THEN upgrade the alternator. Now this is assuming that the battery is good. If you clean the battery posts yearly to prevent corrosion, you can get a few years out of a battery. (I still clean mine yearly and have used a 60 month battery for over 5 years. That's 12 months longer than they claim the battery is good for. YES. It is about time I replaced it.)
