While using the pickle fork and a hammer my daughter Stormie took this pic a split second before the head of the hammer flew off missing doug's head by an inch. We laughed and joked about it but he did say he'd been mad as [email protected]$% if it hit him.

The old gas tank cleaned out and repaired at Doug's rad shop in chandler. I put a gas tank rubber coating on it and put it back in the ranchero. I purchased the new sender from www.gastanks.com.

this is the regulator that came with my electric fuel pump. I ended up buying a 0-6 regulator and it is much better for my application. I prefer the brass fittings over the chrome fittings by far. The brass was purchased from ACE hardware for a fraction of the cost and it fits great.
I didnt feel comfortable with the coil so close to the gas pump so i moved the coil to the block and then moved the pump closer to the shock tower to give it more room to put in the regulator

New radiator, electric fuel pump, distributor and it still wont run. pissed!
I didnt like the way some of the pipe was shaped for the fuel so i decided to bend my own. I bought a couple pieces as i was expecting a big hassle but it turned out alright.
This is the first reg and pump placement but it has since changed.
I purchased the blue pipe tool at Harbor frieght (HF) and it was to small but i kept it anyways as im sure ill need it someday. the larger one was from Lowes and needless to say after i paid for this one i decided to keep the other one; as one of the same size at lowes was 3 times as expensive than the HF one.

I had a 2 door sedan with tan interior and i had extras so i put them in hear. I know it doesnt match but neither do my socks but they work and thats what counted.
I put in this breaker for the fuel pump and what an easy job it was after i wiggled my fat ass between the seat, steering wheel and the transmission hump...took more time getting in and out than it did to install the part, but it was fun.
the old one has a flip cap seen right at the bottom there, and the new one has a plastic plug
the new one...i repeatedly dropped the metal bar into the engine 3 times until i put tape on it to make it a litlle snug then i got the whole thing in.
the inline fuel gauge made by Mr.Gasket and purchased at Loper's Performance in Mesa Arizona.
ok shortly after this pic was taken i moved the coil to the engine. but this is the newer regulator. Shortly after i took this pic i noticed something was wrong..and realized the hose was going in the out port and not the in port.
this is where i noticed something was wrong
looks nice but its all wrong

This is a spare motor i have....its a 144. Has a broken crank bearing cap.
this is the old motor id been working on forever. Myself and 3 of my classmates tore the engine down and measured everything. The conclusion we came to is that the guy who sold the ranchero to my friend had some things machined and put it back together himself...with no success. He probably had no idea what he was doing. The cam was shot and one of the rings had an inch gap..this would explain in part why i couldnt get it started.

All the springs and valves were within spec althought everything will be replaced.

I rebuilt the oil pump and cut a gsket for it. I love school.
