Done! I rebuilt it myself with high performance parts including:

extra clutches and steel plates in the forward clutch drum, a new wide-ratio plantetary gear set, ALTO clutches, Koleen steel clutch plates, a B&M shift kit, new filter, drain plug, ...

I used a green stripe modulator, instead of the old modulator that used two vaccum hoses; this should raise the full throttle shift points to 5500 rpm, I hope.

the clutch plates need to be soaked in ATF fluid for at least 15 minutes, so they survive on start up.

this is the original rear end; its a Ford 9" with drum brakes and a 3.25:1 open differential;

I replaced it with the rearend from my Ranchero 500, which has a 3.00:1 posi diff.
