I have a 1966 Ford Ranchero Inline 6 with 3 on the tree, we just replaced the thermostat but it is running on the hot side when going over 55, It runs at mid range temp when driving around town but as soon as you go over 55 it runs just under the line for hot.
Anyone have any suggestions?

When was the last time the radiator was flushed? Over the years, the radiator may have build up minerals that are clogging the passages. You may have to replace it.

Have you checked the radiator cap as to holding pressure? |

Yes we checked that also, Is it possible that the 65-70 speed limit is to much for the car and thats why it runs hot, do you know? |

Apparently no leaks under pressure? Are you using a recovery bottle?
Timing too far advanced? Valves to tight? Running too lean?
Thanks for compliment on car...22 year project,so far |

I believe the answer lies in the timing and carb adjustment as well and we are going to check all that this weekend and yes we have a recovery bottle |

One last idea... What fan are you running, 4 blade?
You might think about a 2500 cfm electric puller fan. |
