mine were shot but a simple strong fix is ahead (Posted in: bushing install)
DSCN1107.JPG 853 hits | 122.31 KB | Posted: 11/4/05 you will need the following items black RTV, and silver spraypaint and a steady hand.
I chose black rtv but other colors will work, high temp red may be a great idea (Posted in: bushing install)
DSCN1108.JPG 677 hits | 111.85 KB | Posted: 11/4/05 goop on the rtv generously and fill the inside as well, you do not want any air gaps where the bushing would work itself loose again (Posted in: bushing install)
DSCN1109.JPG 652 hits | 97.44 KB | Posted: 11/4/05 spread the RTV evenly taking your time and evening it out as when it finally sets it will be rock hard, or so I am told.
new bushings cost $178 a set just for the lowers
so far I am at $10 for paint and 3 tubes of RTV (Posted in: bushing install)
DSCN1110.JPG 755 hits | 67.03 KB | Posted: 11/4/05 repeat this RTV application to all bushings and then I painted mine for good looks, I hate doing lots of work with no show for the ladies (Posted in: bushing install)
DSCN1096.JPG 957 hits | 85.57 KB | Posted: 11/4/05 i was very careful with my overspray and placed grade 8 washers while the RTV was still setting to give it a clean look, taped off teh bushings and add a few more coats of paint, the end result looks great (Posted in: bushing install)
DSCN1099.JPG 918 hits | 101.1 KB | Posted: 11/4/05 everything back together with all grade 8 hardware with no shortcuts it looks great
and my friend was right it rides great on and off road (Posted in: bushing install)
