This is my first 5.8L. I am currently bringing this beast back to life all DIY if possible.
End goal is to keep this as my daily driver to work for as long as I possibly can.
Engine has good compression, hence the restore. I needed a hobby.
From the experience gained I look forward to switching to a bronco rebuild (2020). |

I bought off classifieds for a couple hundred bucks.
After a tune up (ign, fuel filter, air filter and vacuum lines), clean up (sensor and brake cleaner), (three cans of sea foam vacuum, fuel and oil).
Only one check engine light left. It is a ghoster. Randomly turns on while driving and then turns off.
I look forward to replacing engine components piece by piece. May go aftermarket upgrade on some parts.
