Engine: 390 2v originaly
Now a 428 cu/450hp
Another change to a 427 Genesis
(468 stroker)
Drivetrain: c-6, 350 posi.

Now a Tremec TKO 5 speed
Notes: Purchased the car spring 2000, since then have done a ground up restoration IE: springs, shocks, all front end parts, brakes, tires, wheels, complete interior, new exhaust, 2 1/4 inch stainless pipe with flowmasters, paint and body work, rebuilt trans and differential, etc etc, Entered car in the 2002, All Ford Nationals (at Carlisle) won 1st place in the 67-68 full size class.

Since I last updated a lot of chrome was replaced with NOS items, refurbished steering wheel, new headliner, new front and rear windshields, most of the weatherstripping that was available and of course the usual touch-up everywhere.

At the 2003 Ford Nationals the car won 2nd place in the 65-67 Galaxie class, this was especially nice due to the fact that this put the car against the 7 Liter models and a
7 Liter finished 1st, & 3rd.

Latest update: just installed a 428 into the Galaxie, to say that it woke the car up would be an understatement, installed a set of shorty headers from Ford Powertrain Applications (FPA) replaced the flowmasters with a set of Magnaflow mufflers, going to the all Ford Nationals at Carlisle again. Will update album with new pictures soon.

Attended the Carlisle all Ford Nationals for 2004 and the car took 1st place,

The 428 is performing flawlessly. Since the installation was completed this past spring I have put 2000 miles on the car.
Next winter's project is the conversion to a Tremec 5 speed trans. since this is a driver and not a "trailer queen" I think the 5 speed overdrive will be a nice addition allowing for lower rpm's at highway speeds.

11-15-04, went to a track rental at Atco Dragway, Atco, NJ. Drove the car the 30 miles to the track, dropped some air out of the Mickey Thompson Drag Radials, added some 110 fuel and had a good time.

The drag radials worked very well the car was launching nicely, (previously with street tires would only spin.

Best time of the day was 13.42 @ 100.06 mph, (not bad for a 4000lb. car) the 2800 stall converter turned out to be the perfect match for the "tweaked" C-6.

At the end of the day I drove the Galaxie back home "No trailer Queen"

I am still going forward with the conversion to a tremec 5 speed over the winter in fact all of the parts are sitting in the garage, will update when completed.

UPDATE: 03-01-2005

Over the last two weekends the car was converted from a C-6 to a Tremec TKO 5 speed.
The change over went rather smooth with only minor issues that were quickly and easily addressed. The C-6 trans mount and cross member bolted up to the Tremec without any modification, a new (different length) driveshaft was installed.

The automatic steering column was removed and replaced with a stick shift column. further details will be added soon along with some pictures.
As for now I am still getting used to what amounts to a totally different car in the way it drives and handles (all good)

I have added some pictures showing the tremec and the interior of the car.

Update: 04-17-05:
Took car for a cruise, speed 60 mph, 4th gear check guages and oil pressure drops to Zero!, at same time valve train gets noisy, shut engine down and call for a flatbed.

04-24-05 pulled engine tore it down found damaged bearing and broken oil pump drive, will follow up as rebuild begins.

05-14-05 re-installed the original 390 into the car, was impressed when it came time to crank it for the first time after it was shelved for a year, the engine fired after 1 revolution.

Shipped the 428 short block back to the builder, even though the warranty was expired over 6 months he offered to repair the engine free of charge! I had to pay for shipping. will update when engine is completed.

06-03-05, (in the rain) took the car to the all Ford Nationals at carlisle, this was the first long trip with the TKO 5 speed installed, was a pleasure to cruise at 70mph @ 2000 rpm's. (still has the 350 gears) car took first place in the 65-67 full size class.

12-05-05, Purchased a Genesis 427 block, sent the block to the machine shop along with the stroker kit, had the rotating assemby balanced and the block machined. then accumulated all the parts ($$$) to begin the build.

02-04-06, assembled the short block, (see pictures) to be continued.

UPDATE: 03/08/2013,

It has been a while since last updated.

The Genesis 427 Stroker was installed, March of 2006.

A 411 Detroit Locker was installed, September of 2008.

A set of Edelbrock Stage X aluminum heads, Machined by Barry, @ Survival Motor Sports. Installed August of 2012,
