I bought it from the wife of a gentleman who has had it in pieces in his garage for over 30 years. The family was moving from Bakersfield to Fresno and she refused to let him move the pieces to the new garage. So, the three of us negotiated a price and I hauled it all home on a trailer (a total basket case). The car still had original title - it was purchased new by Coca Cola of Bakersfield in 39. I contacted a retired executive of the company and he filled me in on the details. It was black when delivered new and immediately painted yellow with Coke logo on door to match the fleet. It was driven by the General Manager (who is 90+ and still living in Bakersfield) until the late 40's - then turned over to the Sales Manager who drove it into early 50's when it joined the fleet. The fellow I bought it from acquired it in a yard sale at Coke in the late 60's. It has not been on the road for at least 30 years. If you check the picture you can see that it may be back in service by summer of '03. |

Completing assembly - will drive/debug in primer, then take apart for final. This is the "last one" for this old man.
