this broken exhaust manifold bolt put up a good fight but after 20-30 minutes i was able to prevail. may he rust in pieces.

this was the only exhaust manifold bolt that broke off. luckily it broke off after i had started unscrewing it, and it was still sticking out of the head. to get it out, i had to use a grinder to flatten out the top and bottom of the threads and use vice grips to work it back and forth, about 1/3 of a turn each time. i also used LOTS of liquid wrench. after this one, i made extra sure i used lots of liquid wrench on all the other bolts too. i think this one got stuck because of rust particles gumming up the threads. i will be sure to use my bottoming tap on the rest of the threads for these bolts. all will be replaced with appropriate length ARP stainless steel 12 point header bolts.
