I'm FORDBOYpete, I'm new here, but that's about the only place I'm new. Everywhere else I am OLD. I been rodding a long time, was a FoMoCo "wrench" or Tech, then service advisor then Service Manager & Parts Manager.

When American Auto OEMs were spitting out mid 70's "YUNK". . .I had to quit my happy home @ a FoMoCo Dealership. Besides the terible, troublesome cars coming out of Dearborn & crummy parts out of Livonoia, the dealership took on "Rice Rocket" Toyota. I was gone within 90 days.

Anyway I'm a Natural Gearhead, and a Ford Affecinado of the highest order. I had a 37 Slant Back 2Door, "tudor" sedan, my uncle returning from WW II & San Diego in sunny Southern CA, the birthplace of street rods, let me help him build for me. I was 10 and he was 21-22. He spent a lot of time at the dry lakes hanging out with SoCal Timing Assoc, or SCTA Members, also LA Roadster guys, and all that. We were the first on our block, in the Northe East to have a "Hot Rod", everybody else was wearing raccoon coats, saying 23 Skidooo and driving Jalopies. . .we were quick and they were silly. . . .

We were deemed crazy, a passing Fad, our cars were "Hopped Up" so we must have been also. Well, I see plenty of rods & customs, Drag racing, NASCAR, Huge Auto Shows are all the norm, but I have not seen a Jalopy for 50 years now. . . .AHhhh
