Ok, the battery in my dad's 01' f-150 died so he went and bought another one. We installed it and connected it and the alarm (factory alarm) started going off as with most cars with alarms. I grabbed the clicker and hit the "Disarm" button and the door locks popped up but the alarm kept going off (this includes lights flashing, annoying siren, and ignition shutoff)! I went inside his truck and held down the little flashing button/light on the dash (I heard that if you hold it down for a certain amount of time it would turn the alarm off) for a good 20 seconds but to no avail. After about 3 minutes of trying, I couldn't take it anymore so I unplugged the negative side of the battery thinking that it would reset the computer and the alarm. I let it sit for about 20 minutes and plugged it back in but the same problem persists.
HELP!!!! My dad needs his truck and he can't start it or anything! The truck thinks that it is being stolen even though it's not. Is there a way aroung this???!!! |

depending on what type of alarm, you may have to re-program the remote. most of the time you hold the remote button and wait untill it beeps, if you have 2 buttons on the remote try the one that is not the primary. thats how i reset mine after dissconnecting the battery. |
