once you know where you have to sit those bags, drill out those holes. I also used a bit of rubber mat for vibration dampening.

bags come with a channel for a bar mount.
cut inside bottoms flat with the braket mounting channel and glass the hole flat across.
cardboard and tinfoil can do wonders with fiberglass.

pay very close attention to the clearance for the softail swing arm. it would be a real drag to do all this work and then have a pothole send that bolt up and into that fiberglass bag.

once the bags are properly set into the bottom, whip up some upper brackets to hang off the rear strut and seriously stabalize those bags. I used some metal strips and bent them to the exact specs I needed. Your bikes may differ, but you get the idea...
