Necessary parts and materials. This is only mock up/template stage. The final assembly will be on .125 (supposedly) plate steel.

Final layout; nothing changed. 30 micron filter manager handing off to Summit fuel pump going into a 5 micron filter manager which then sends the fuel to the injection pump. Tubes are 3/8 as are all the fittings, in one form or other.

Not a whole lot done in a day....
This, now, C-Channel plate steel will sit bolted inside the frame-rail with the fuel filter managers and fuel pump bolted to it.

Keener eyed observers may notice that my welds are butt fugly. There is a good reason for this: I can not weld.

Slow week. Boo. Semi-finished product; grabbed the wrong bolt lengths at Lowes.

Placement. Leaning slightly forward as it isn't permanently mounted yet so the bottoms will sit a little bit higher than what it does. Also it may end up being a couple inches further back; didn't check it at the time but it looks as the crossmember ...

Angle slightly farther back. That red wire at the back of the torsion bar crossmember is the current, factory location for the lift pump. It doesn't look like it from the angle but the new fuel assembly is probably a good 24 inches farther back.

View from the rear end. Still looks rather clean; I'm satisfied so far with this.

So much for a nice flat belly. Looks like just the drain plugs will protrude below the bottom of the frame rail. Oh well, the 4wd on this one is for support purposes only. This is one Suburban that will not do anything off-road.

Damn you General Motors. Wasn't anticipating this...completely screwed up my Saturday. Buddy at work says we carry adapters for them so I'll have to check Monday if we have what I need.

Cut and flared stock fuel line. We did not have the fittings; buddy misunderstood about what end I needed so I'll have my adapter fittings from Summit tomorrow.

Fittings are here! On the left we have a 16x1.5 Saginaw style fitting to -6AN fitting. On the right we have a -6AN to 3/8 tube. Hopefully, weather permitting I will have the front fuel line on the vehicle tonight.

This monstrosity of a regulator setup. So far this is what I have. I'll make a stop a Lowes to see if I can find some different brass to tighten it up a bit. Eventually I'll have a different regulator to really clean things up. Yes, that is a fullsiz...

This is much better. Still ugly but nowhere near the monster of the previous setup. I can deal with this one a lot better. 3/8NPT to 1/8NPT nut out of the regulator to 1/8NPT Tee with 1/8NPT 90s on each end. Fuel pressure gauge is also 1/8NPT (of cou...

Regulator assembly mounted. Simple bracket made out of 16 gauge steel (I think.) Seems fairly sturdy; I figure if I can not bend it by hand then it should survive under the hood. At least that is what I am hoping.

Engine shot with the regulator and minus the factory filter manager. Not quite done at this point. Still need to pull the injection pump feed fitting and install a .375 fitting; not to mention the pump still needs to be wired.
