View showing the newly installed ported vacuum switch. The old one was broken and had no tubes connected. Heat from the hot water causes the switch to remove the carb vacuum hose and connect the manifold vacuum one, which is greater, and is fed to t...

View showing the rubber shroud that was installed. The original one was missing. I'm not sure what exactly this does. Perhaps it forces fresh outside air to pass through the radiator, rather than being bypassed, by sucking air in from the large hol...

This is the original autolite 2100 carb (356 cfm) that is not on the car now. It was rebuilt and sitting on the shelf should it be needed in the future. Size stamped on side (near anti-stall dashpot) 1.23 (venturi size)

This is the new carb (from Amazon, instead of *autolite* it is called *autoline* showing the position of the fast idle screw. This carb has venturi size of 1.08 or 287 CFM. Not as much as the original autolite, but may be better for mileage. Power ...

This is the new carb showing the anti-stall dashpot before I adjusted it correctly. It was never done by North Coast Rest. when they put the carb on.

The numbers stamped on the side of the carb next to the dashpot reveal the carb's CFM. The origina...

There is still room though. The two folding chairs are already in there, and spare parts too. The box holds the top boot.

The new replacement torsion bar (lighter blue) and the original one. The replacement came out of a '69 Marquis convertible that was at the CTC Auto Ranch in Texas. They are VERY helpful, and have lots of Mercurys from 1969.
