4.10s for $80? Plus the rest of the frame? Um, yes please. Now, where is that 4.10 10.5?

Flabbergasted with how it fit the trailer.

Sterling 10.25 from a 1992 F350 (non-c&c). open 4.10s, 3.5 wide shoes and 72-inch wms to wms.

Starting the strip down. Most bolts either had to be broken off or cut off.

Legit Ford 4.10s. So happy.

Came from a northern truck that was used to plow.
Four hours later it is all stripped as far as I am willing to and wire wheeled. Just waiting for dry warm weather to degrease and power wash.
After the acid wash or as Por15 call it Metal Prep.
First coat of Por15. Never used it before. I was surprised by how thin it was, I expected rather thick goop. Used an el cheapo sponge brush from Lowes to apply it.

Complete first coat to the housing. Did not do the cover as I will replace that. The dried coat is actually a nice satin finish. I would another two coats on it though. According to Por15 I will need to either wet sand with 320 or use their primer. I am not moving this heavy sob outside again just to wet sand and I do not carry their primer through work so I am just going to try to apply another coat over it. Probably will not work but we will see. To properly apply the second coat directions say to wait between 4 and 6 hours. Who has time for that?
Aaaaand that is what Por15 looks like when you rush it. Eh, it is the backing plate so I am not that worried about it. I do like the flat finish though.

I find doing the brakes are supremely easier with the plates off the truck.

Since I needed a new diff cover anyway: later model 10.5 finned aluminum (08-10 Super Duties.) Dorman part 697-725. Being a Dorman it's not 100% flat but hopefully torquing it down will take care of that. Bolts are pn: 960112D: flanged 5/16-18, 1 1/4 length.

There is a chance I might need to get a new pinion yoke. This one is for the "short" pinion design.
New yoke is here! Yukon 41038. Sterling short 1350. Looks nice.

Looks like it is ever so slightly beefier. Might just be me?

The result of a DRW rear end in an SRW truck. It looks much worse in person.
Yep, it sticks out...too much. Oh well, just need to live with it for a few months till PMF sends my RSK and I get the SD-D50 rebuilt. Pictures of that later.

Heard a brake noise come from no where. After putting 20-25 miles on it with no issue.
Shoe retention spring came off. Heard a rotational grinding noise that I thought was bearing noise and then no. Glad I pulled the drum off to make sure.

Super Duty Dana 50...a bit rough. Not the deal of the century but not a ripoff either.
Looks nasty. Good thing I do not need them.
