This filter goes inside a screw on cannister lid under the driver on the frame rail. It's peculiar to just the 85-86 EFI'd 302, as later ones were entirely different. Fram part number CG 3862.

On 85 and 86s this is your fuel filter housing. located on the inside of the frame rail under the driver's door.
This is the way the filter should be loaded into the lid.

Here's the filter housing without the lid.

You don't need sealant or grease on the threads or anything on the threads to seal it. All you need are really, really clean threads.
Then you just need a new O-ring. If you look carefully you'll actually see an O-ring already in the groove of the lid.
The tiny screwdriver is resting on the O-ring in it's groove in the lid.
If you overtighten the lid all you achieve is crushing the filter (like I did last time). Each time I change the filter I realize I don't need much tightening pressure to seal it at all.

This here is the oil breather filter. Many new Bronco owners overlook changing this. If you fail to change your PCV valve, or oil, often enough this oil breather filter will start to get saturated in oil. That will be your first clue that you're getting too much crankcase pressure.
