the E4OD/1356 manual shifter assembly/linkage I searcheth for.

|
The earlier pics of the shifter were of a still prisitine '96 with 2200 miles. This shifter is the same, just bought it from a parts dealer in Minn. from a '97 F250 with E4OD.

pretty much all disasembled, cleaned the one half, reusing the bearings, but it is getting new seals, new oil pump kit, the welded piece of round rod on the oil pump locator arm, and new shift fork inserts. scored the shifter assembly and shifter, still need the boot/plastic cover and linkage rod, and short electrical harness to try and get the dash lights to work

Welding this little piece of mild round bar on the end makes the contact area with the side of the case almost 3x what it was. It's unlikely it will ever have an issue here again.

I also used a little red locktite on the 4 oil pump bolts as it appeared it was used when factory assembled.

Just a pic of the shifter plate, you can almost make out the ford part number. This plate is for the newer E4OD shifter that have a plunger/pushdown mechanism so you can't accidently shift into N or 4LO. I disassembled the shifter to paint this, and lube up the shifter for years of future no-troubles operation

proper boot/plastic cover for the E4OD and 92+ trucks.

getting that dang stock cover off. what glue Ford used only God knows.

all done with shifter, cover boot, and linkage below

make sure when you are putting the rear Tcase nose piece back on you don't cover that rectagular hole with sealer. That's a passage for fluid.

dash 4x4 and 4low lights work since I went down and bought the little harness that goes to the manual tcase.
