derale 8x500cfm fan.jpg | Hits: 1139 | Size: 23.89 KB | Posted on: 2/20/11 | Link to this image

The planned fan, probably make it a puller since I don't have the AC condensor and have room behind the E4OD cooler (it won't be on all the time, just trails mostly, so I want it out of the way for regular driving, likely not needed).

So I bought the dereale 8", 500cfm puller fan that draws 4.8amp. It will sit right behind the stock E4OD trans cooler. Pics coming for that.

So this is looking at the power steering cooler (smaller one closest) and the tranny cooler farthest away with the front clip removed. So the Derale tranny cooler is behind the trans cooler in the coming pics.

just a front shot of the trans cooler with the plastic ties coming through. Cooler is a puller and on the backside.

pic from drivers side under the power steering cooler looking over at the passenger side trans cooler and the fan behind it. There is plenty of room back to the radiator on the right, and man, 500CFM, it really sucks air through for only 4.8amp. This should help the tranny stay cool on the trail more than I am thinking. We shall see, but I hope this would add a good 15* cooling. It's also pretty quite.

trans cooler fan switch.jpg | Hits: 1125 | Size: 50.4 KB | Posted on: 4/12/11 | Link to this image

So now there is a little red switch right next to the trans temp gauge. Normally I would not have a lighted switch high up like this, but I rarely do night wheeling, and the whole point of this switch is to turn on when I see the trans temp gauge getting well beyond 200*, which has only happened on slow trails over hours. In town with a load it might as well and that's fine. I already heat wrapped what I could of the tranny lines right down by the exhaust, and then this mod I hope to see another 12-15* cooler max temps.

Just a couple pics where you connect the electrical sender at the E4OD that goes up to the gauge.
