We had a couple times the van did not want to start and the charging system seemed low. i found the battery cables needed to be replaced. as i inspected the pos cable i found this mess. it is an old negitive (black) cable connected to a newer pos cable and an aux power take off all connected with a hose clamp. no wonder i saw sparks once in awhile.......they should hang people for this.
this is where the Aux power line goes to and i decided to pull the tray and clean it. then paint it.
this is another pic of the battery tray in the van. it is all surface at this time.
here it is out of the van----that was a pain-someone ran the e-brake cable thu the mount so i had to disassemble the whole e-brake system and undo some wire harness that ran thru the mount too. i wire wheeled the tray.
2 coats primer and a couple coats of flat black it looks new again.
here is the old pos bandaided cable 6' long.
here is another shot of the bandaid---the AUX wire is not showing but i replaced it too.
While i was there i got a new Neg cable too. This is the old one.

Here is the new cables along with the old neg. i had a set made out of 2 guage welding wire. these will not fail
this is the new cables in and the new AUX power take off. Much better
the neg is 2 pieces i replaced the 1st leg as the rest looked ok for now. it goes from the battery to a ground lug on the body. The system now is charging great and running smooth.

The windows went up and down real slow and not at all sometimes. i found a couple versions on ebay i went for the lifetime warrenty brand $39 plus shipping each.A1 auto. Both sides use the same motor.
the other side. i was able to swap these out in 15 each side. 4 rivets hold the old in and i greased the tracks and installed the new motors. they work great.
Here is a 3.8 tarus 2 speed fan. $19 at the local junk yard. these have a high and low speed and really put out the air.
here is the back side of the fan. it came complete as seen in the picture.
Hereis a continus duty relay. it can handle 80 amps all the time. the fan spikes @ 100 amps at startup and runs @ 26 amps. so standard plastic relays like to melt. I got this one from the junk yard off a limmo.
I wanted to get some of the wires off the battery. so i picked up a single point power take off. This was off a S-15 pickup but i seen them on alot of different cars and trucks. again junk yard $1 part. I decided to fix what the stero person did and relocat the amp power thur a gromet and a better firewall location.
on the inside i needed to get an ignition on power source. so i taped one of the acc on ports in the fuse panel. you can see the new wires (amp and igniton signal) on the middle left of the screen.
Here is the fan temp power controler. I got it new from Autozone $24. the ignition on wire goes to this then then from this to the relay. The relay has a battery connection on one side and the fan connection on the other.
