This was how the rear end looked as i got her.

here is a shot from behind the axle.

I finally got to go on a test drive. as i was pulling in the driveway the clutch slipped and then grabbed and i heard a loud explosion. the bronco was no longer moving. here was what i found. the sid gears went to shavings.

if you look in the center diff you can see the bottom spider gear is gone.
|

here is a closeup of the shavings. this is what is left from the spider gears.

you can see the side gear with its chewed up teeth.

there was metal shavings everywhere.
|

you can see the large amount of gearsmissing from the side and the whole gear from the bottm.

the 3:55 and large tires were not a good mix and these were old so that may have been the issue.
