Here is how she all started out.

Here is the rear brakes as i got the beast. the drums were over spraied with the rim color. they had bad groves on the inside. so i got all new drums and parts.

Here is the drivers side brake system as i started this repair.

Here it all stripped down ready to be pulled out anf get regeared and new paint and brakes.

I stripped all the brake parts off. i found the backing plates were torn up and needed to be replaced.

Here it is all completed with the new drums installed

with the brake and drums being new i decided it was time to replace and upgrade the brake lines. i took the hard line off the axle and replace all with stainlees steel braiding over a teflon line. here are all the parts. the hose from the axle to frame is 32" long i wanted lots of extra for flex (and since i needed more withthe lift i added).

Here is the new lines and adapters i got to conver the rear brakes to braided lines.

here is the rear flex line the stock on the bottom and the new on th top.

the flex line went right in place of the stock rubber line. the axle vent goes thru the bottom of the disti block.

here you can see where the line connects to the frame. it is the same line as the stock rubber line.

to instal the braided lines i added the adapters to the disti block. these are AN adapters.

i added the AN adapter to the wheel cylinder on the drivers side.

i got the lines longer than i thought and i went over the spring and connected the wheel to the disti block.
|

Here is the brake lines all completed. the pedal feels so much better.

This turned out real good and was an easy upgrade.

I was going to add new tabs to hold the lines but now there is going to be an axle swap somewhere soon. I loking to add a DANA 70 or 80 and disc brake system.
