This was how she looked when i opened the hood. i had a lifter tick and the PO bought new lifters so i thought i swap them in.

i started by removing the bolts that held the compressor in place and the air cleaner and PCV and front oil vent plugs.

i moved the compressor off to the side it is still connected and i was told it works (i found out it was junk and removed it all together.

Off came the fuel line from the pump to the carb then the valve cover and lifter valley cover.

I did one cylinder at a time and replaced all the lifters and 2 slightly bent push rods.

new lifter installed and all tourqued back down. i cleaned and painted the lifter cover.

Here she was all toghther and ready to return to the smog shop. i decided to clean and paint the valve cover too.
