I was not sure when this was done last so i decided to replace the plugs and wires. I went to NAPA and got 8 new Bosh Platinum plugs and new Belden Max wires (700385).

here it is without the air cleaner in place.
since the ignition system is stock i went with the factory gap setting of 0.035.
i did the plugs and wires 1 at a time so i did not mix them up. here is the old wires.
here are the old plugs they were gapped at .050 way to big for the stock ignition system. the tach did not like to work below 1000 RPM and the correct gap seemed to have fixed this.
here are the old plugs again all seemed to be burning correctly.
i put some of the Anit-size on the plug threads. this will keep the plugs from rusting to the head and allow easy swap next time.

here is the new drivers side wires in place.

here is the cap side with the new wires in place.

we wer driving down the street and had a real bad shake and then the motor died. one issue was the cap and rotor ( i should have replaced at the time i did plugs and wires but i was too cheap. the rotor was burned and the coil connector was blown off the cap. you can see a hole where it should be.
you can see the rotor is cooked and the bottom of the cap is in poor shape as well.
you can see the center or coil nipple is burned off the cap.
The rotor was burned real bad.
