I found the intake boot had a few cracks in it. so I bought a new one. i removed the hose clamp for the carb and set the carb aside. i then removed the 4 bolts that held the intake, reed valve and reed valve gasket in place. the old gasket was torn as well.

this is the new gasket on the reed valve assembly.

you put the gasket then the reed valve then the intake boot and the carb and tighen all down. re-install the hose clamp and carb and go road test. this thing is working great..
