16 days after it was mailed by USPS Priority from Michigan (2 day service), and 4 days after I got the first attempted delivery card (which was left in my mailbox 1 day & replaced with another card the 3rd day), this arrived on my doorstep. The box, which is obviously sufficient to protect the turntable when handled reasonably, was apparently dropped or thrown hard enough to dislodge the platter from the motor shaft, causing it to break the head off the tonearm & knock the side out of the dust cover.

After putting the platter back on, there's a scraping noise coming from inside the turntable, indicating the motor is damaged.
