This is the trick Steve83 imparted to me. Look how much room and play there is in the rack to pull it outward. Using his tip I was able to re-install the rack to motor bolt without working through the cowl at all. You still have to slide the cowl out of the way to access the upper right motor mounting bolt, but this tip saves a lot of grief.
