Got myself in a pickle here. I had a bad trunk lock cylinder for years and thought nothing of it. I always used the dash button or key chain remote to pop trunk open. Having only one small lamp for interior illumination I pulled the electrical plug at latch hoping to tap into wiring. I was adding relay a circuit to handle much brighter lamps. But I shut the trunk before plugging the latch switch back in. Now I can't open the trunk at all! I did not know that the lamp plug also controlled the electric latch release??? Only thing I can think of is removing the rear seat components to gain access to interior of trunk.

Sometimes it takes a problem to solve a problem. I am updating my previous lock out dilemma. I thought: let's try to get the trunk lock cylinder working again. When I purchased the car, the little springy key hole entrance protector was stuck in the open position. My key would never slide into it either. I concluded water and debris had gotten inside or was tampered with. Today with some very small screw drivers, needle nose pliers and bent to hook paper clips I got the blockage out! Guess the slot's dust cover spring got pushed in towards tumbler area at one time. Little my slow I was able to remove the crushed up spring parts. Now lubed, the key works flawlessly . Now all I have to find is a small rubber disc or grommet to keep the elements out.
