I recently purchased a 72 pro street Ranchero. Upon trying to get the car back together and ready for state inspection I discovered the tail lights were re wired and not operating correct. I need to know the sequence of the bulbs top ,middle and bottom. Which is the turn signal and which is the brake do more than one in the sequence work at the same time ... I know the single wire one on the bottom is for the reverse light. What is the two wire light and what is the three wire light?

I ordered a shop manual that will be here tomorrow. I will look up the info and get back to you within the next couple of days. Hopefully I can help you out and get this problem resolved.

Okay, here is what I know. Both of the top two pair of light sockets operate on the running lights and both operate with the brakes and turn signals. The top socket should have three wires. Unfortunately I can't give you any other info at this time. I have the Ford shop manuals but they don't provide as much information as I expected. I'm going to try and find a wiring diagram, so I will try to get back to you with more info.
