I finally decided I need to put this ranchero "Raunchy" in the hands of someone who will finish it. I got side-tracked to vintage hot rods and this truck is just too nice to just sit in the back of my shop.
The truck started as a rust free california truck. I daily drove it for two years until I got in a minor fender bender....and rather than just change the fenders, I got the case of "might as well do this" and ended up on the journey of rebuilding the entire truck.
Front Chassis:
Raunchy has an aftermarket Mustang II front end with the later fox-body mustang power rack. It has firestone airbags, disk brakes and 1-inch sway bar. It should ride and handle well. The shock towers were eliminated in this process so the engine bay is clean and room to hold any V8. All components are new.
Rear Chassis:
It has a 9-inch rear out of a Lincoln Versailles with disc brakes. It is held in place by parallel 4 bar and a panhard bar. It uses firestone airbags in the rear along with a custom swaybar. All components are new except rear end. It came from a running car, but I had plans to rebuild....but did not get that far.
Engine/ Tranny:
The engine is a 351W with a mild cam and torker Intake. It was the engine I was running until the accident. The engine ran strong and should be fine. I previously ran and AOD but swapped over to a mustang T-5 in this rebuild. It came from a running mustang, but I have not used it. I swapped in a standard shift column and pedals, however I have the old stuff (minus the AOD) if one wants to go the automatic route.
Body:
As mentioned, the body hasn't ever had rust issues. The only body damage was on the left front fender, grill, hood, and minot damage to the radiator support. All parts were replaced with rust free original sheetmetal except the radiator support which only had damage behind he headlight bucket. This was just hammered as it can not be seen with the fender/grill on.
The body was shaved of door handles, gas tank door, and emblems. The paint is flawless teal and is straight as an arrow and very detailed polish. I have NOS tail lights and instrument cluster for the truck. The interior is 80% finsihed . The seats are done in cream ultra-leather. Door panels are finsshed, headliner is finished. Needs carpet and dashpad to complete. There is a vintage air unit behind the dash. I was running this unit prior to the accident. It compes with compressor, condensor, etc.
There is so much more to this truck like 17-inch American Bonneville Salt-Flats rims, brand new BFGs, that I can't get all down on paper. I have over $20K in the truck (I stopped counting). I'm selling it cheap because its a project but I hope it goes to someone who will wrap this truck up. There is significant upside value.
I like to get $14,500 for the truck, but open to any offer even trades for early hotrod (1928-1940 fords).
Please email me at rrhill@attglobal.net and I'll send ya a few pics. Thanks! |
