Hi, i am about to start a ho swap. I came across a shop that has 3 ho motors, oil pan to upper intake. The block has been bored .30 over n honed. Im not sure wat was replaced and wat reused, if any but i will check be for purchase. Has gt40p heads(rebuilt). I think upgraded springs, rods rockers valves. upper n lower gt40 intake. New cam, i think e303. The price is $2200! Is this a good price? Ive done some research on this shop n have gotten several good remarks. I already have 2 1/2 exhuast with 40 series flowmasters. installed after the converter flang. Is there a set of headers that will work with the 40p heads and my stock converters which will match up to the rest of my exhaust? Or wats the best solution for that situatuon. Wat, questions should i ask the shop about the motor.
As prices vary around the country and from shop to shop for the same thing, see what your area a pricing it for. Sounds like a 302 HO longblock plus the intake, which sells from $ 1500 to $ 3200 , so the price is right. If you are putting it in a CV, you should be able to locate headers for that combination. If long tubes are not available, use shorty headers.
