I've owned two JK's, And three LJ's. All great Wranglers.
My newest is a pristine 05' 6-speed manual LJ.
All of my jeeps are posted here..
The LJ imo is the best platform for me to build a Jeep from and still use as a DD, or a 4dr JK is another one as well. All personal choices. whatever you decide will be the right one for you..

This is looking back down the road from the top. In the background you can see the Columbia River below which separates Oregon and Washington, as we were at roughly 4,900 ft.

Mt. Defiance at the top. Hood River County Sheriff's Department arrived to take a gentlemen down the hill. We waited until they arrived, just in case the situation changed and he needed to get down sooner as we were the only vehicles there.

Finally made it out, This Will in his modified JK coming out of the trail as well. Notice the ADVANCED Black diamond rating on the sign. It was worth that rating too.

We kept seeing the easier trail on our GPS's but this new trail would move away. It was a long difficult trail for sure, But challenging..:-)

Pablo took out part his tranny tube going into the pan earlier so he was shutdown and in neutral. Nick and Ken pulled him forward. When he got stuck, Roger and myself pulled him back.
