The last big rain leak is this hinge. Water drips onto the pedals, and although all this RightStuff has slowed it down, it's not stopped. So I'm going to fold the w/s frame down & reseal it all.

The w/s frame has to go forward & up slightly to fold down onto the hood, and so the roof has to be lifted. That means accessing these bolts under the bedrails, which means I've had to remove most of the interior trim.

The Dynamat above the front headliner hasn't sagged a bit in the past ~year. The foam strips near the wiper are to hold the headliner tight against the wiper cover so it doesn't rattle.

I removed the rear window trim, bedwall panels, front headliner, dash pad, visors, wiper cover, wiper motor, & all the roof bolts, but I left the concealed braces in the C-pillars so the roof wouldn't slide. Then I lifted the front of the roof just enough to tilt the w/s frame out. I had already cut the seals above the doors when I installed them, and I had left enough slack in the wiring coming up from the dash. The wiring going into the roof has connectors.

Even without the wiper motor, it's pretty heavy. I should have removed the wiper arms & set a board on the pad for the shafts.

I was able to loosen the camper shell enough to lay the windshield down without having to lift the shell off.

There's a lot of dirt on the lower hinge plate, but the real problem is between that plate & the top of the firewall.

After removing the dash & suspending it from the roof, I unbolted the hinge and shifted the frame forward enough to clean all this dirt out. I suspect the biggest leaks are the 2nd & 3rd bolt holes from the L side (the 2 in the sunlight).

After a thorough cleaning, I applied steel building putty (tacky tape) to each bolt hole, and RightStuff around the perimeter of the hinge plate. Then I bolted it down, and applied more RightStuff around each bolt head & the back edge where there were some gaps. Then this rubber seal went back before lifting the frame into position. I'm letting the RightStuff dry overnight before I clean off the excess & apply one more bead below the hinge from the outside.

Even with the sealant below the hinge, water was still getting behind the hinge from the top, and building up in the trough high enough to spill over behind the dash (because the ends of the hinge were sealed). So I cleaned out some of the sealant from the ends & added a bead above the hinge. There's one more leak above the radio that will have to dry before I can seal it. It's a rust hole that wasn't filled correctly during the initial restoration in NC.

Even after all that, the (relatively new) windshield gasket was still leaking. And in the process of installing the new one, the original windshield broke. So we put in a new gasket (with a LOT of RightStuff) & a new PPG (Chinese) w/s, and we're waiting for some rain to assess the effect.
